Subtitle: Which one’s the Blonde?

Starting with the now-legendary Chris Fromont of New Plymouth.

Chris had been worried, along with other workers, about the state of the shredding machine at the waste processing plant he worked at.

Yes, he got stuck in it, by two legs and one arm.

All three limbs had to be amputated, while Chris was still conscious!, to enable paramedics to get him out of the machine.

Recovering from his ordeal, a mere three days later, he is in intensive care recovering.

One of his first wishes is that the owner of the machinery, “fix it before someone gets hurt”!!!??!!!

How tough is this bloke?


Then there’s the horrific case of Alison Mau (strangely, pronounced “more”) who is calling in her lawyers after being booted out of Prime TV, despite her dad having written to the broadcaster pointing out how much better his girl is than the incumbent, Suzy Clarkson (nee Aitken).

Apparently, this has been, much akin to the Susan Wood fiasco, very hard on her and her family. Losing, or being about to lose a highly privileged and paid position is just traumatic.

Nonetheless, like Susan Wood, she is gritting her teeth and bearing up to the strain.

What a champ!


And finally, Johnny Lowe, who on Boxing Day last year, gave the thumbs up to his helicopter pilot mate who then took off.

As he walked away, Johnny felt a “bit of a tap on the head” and said, “’Struth! That was a close one!” before he noticed the blood pissing out of his skull.

He had actually been hit fair and square in the skull by the rotor blades, causing injuries from which people hardly ever survive, and those that do are almost always irretrievably brain-damaged.

Johnny, on the other hand, on the way to the hospital, commented to the paramedics that he hoped they could fix him up fast because he had to work the next day!!??!!!

He didn’t go to work the next day as he is still recovering from what all doctors involved describe as the worst brain injury they had seen.

Johnny is still missing a THIRD of his skull, but is 100% compos mentis, amazing everyone involved.

How tough is he???
