Abortion

There are few debates that result in murder being committed in their names, but abortion is one. There are several examples of American health workers being murdered solely for their connection to the abortion industry.

The most ironic thing of all is that the opponents of abortion, who claim to be so in touch with humanity that they wish to preserve foetuses are actually misogynists hiding their true position behind a smokescreen of biblical bullshit.

Let's have a look at a few pertinent facts first:

Anti-abortionists are overwhelmingly white, male, middle-aged or over.

Anti-abortionists are almost without exception basing their dislike of abortion on a religious or holy book.

Anti-abortionists are clearly trying to control women by limiting what they may do with their own bodies and lives.

The best thing about anti-abortionists is that they are also almost without exception, enormous hypocrites. They claim to stand for women's rights by trying to protect a bundle of cells that may become a female human, but they deny living women the ability to avoid paying for mistakes for not just the rest of their lives, but the entire lives of the foetuses they carry.

Here is a classic comment from the head of NSW's anti-abortion team, notably an ob/gyn doctor. How would you like this bloke as your obstetrician?

The president of NSW Right to Life, Dr Simon McCaffrey, who is a practising gynaecologist and obstetrician, said the protesters had "probably misunderstood" his group's commitment to the relationship between a mother and her unborn child.

"We harbour no ill feelings towards them and hope that in the future they cherish this relationship as much as we do," he said. Link

"Where's the hypocrisy?" you may well ask.

Dr Simon McCaffrey is also quite well-known for three other things: being mega-rich (this is just an investment asset), being a politician - leader of the DLP in Australia - and being a huge supporter of Catholic doctrine and the church itself.

No doubt the good doctor bases his ownership of women on the bible as he bases his opposition to abortion on the teachings of Jesus.

However, like most of the softcocked christian shitheads who talk some of the bits of the bible, Doc McCaffrey has missed a really important statement of Jesus'. The one about money.

Jesus had a low opinion of wealth and said so, according to Matthew 19:24

Another huge hypocrite for the same reason is Governor Robert Bentley, of Alabama in USA. Another super-rich white male of middle age, Gov Bentley has been trying to get a law passed which would close three of the state's five clinics where abortions can be performed. Thankfully, the law was ruled unconstitutional by the courts. Like the Doc, the Gov is just such a human-loving guy that he is forced to attempt to introduce unconstitutional laws.

That attack women's rights.

Misogyny and religion - go hand in hand across the world as we see muslim women dressed in tents with small slits for their eyes, to rich white wankers passing misogynist laws, to churches that won't allow women to hold services and positions in the organisation.

These old white moneyed men will try to hide theirs behind love of life or some other bullshit heading, but be aware, it is every bit as much an attack on women as smashing one in the face because she winked at another guy.
