Nice work, Labour! Although I fear you haven't gone far enough.
Now that we have guaranteed a minimum 50% women MPs in Labour, we need to look at other inequalities.
There are 10% gay people in each sex, so clearly, 10% of Labour MPs must be gay or lesbian, with a further indeterminate number of people of indeterminate gender.
Then, let's not just get stuck on gender. Dwarfs, Chinese, Indians, Maori, Pasifika and Irish people need representation, too! Not to forget South Africans, Somalis and Poms. They must also be represented fairly in Parliament.
But wait, there's more!
Not just dwarfs and other vertically-challenged people, what about mentally ill, paraplegics, the disabled and even better, the thousands in jail! Jesus, there are a lot more people in jail than there are transgender people, and we've already had Georgina Beyer! Who is going to speak for the jail population?
Housewives, unemployed, the homeless - the number of groups needing representation is immense!
Stamp collectors! There are hundreds of thousands of avid philatelists in this country, but they stand without a voice.
Let's right these wrongs now.
