I tend to feel a bit sorry for members of New Zealand's armed forces: our air force has no armed planes, our navy has only a couple of fishery protection vessels that generally stay in port because we don't have enough crew for more than 1 operational offshore at a time, and our army is so pathetically badly-equipped that they are still using rifles most of the world gave away last century. Not to mention the lack of tanks, transport and modern RPGs.

Here they are, underpaid, under-resourced and envious of every other army on the planet; our grunts are the poor cousins of the western world's armed forces.

But we now find that there's one thing we stand atop the world in military matters.

We have the gayest and most LGBT-friendly armed forces on the planet!

Is their anthem Village People's In The Navy - that's what I need to know.
