More National Dishonesty

13 March

I had the distasteful experience of receiving a letter from my local MP, Jamie-Lee Ross, yesterday.

Postage paid by taxpayers, a similar letter was delivered to every registered voter in the area. MPs are allowed to use their Parliamentary postage perk to communicate with electors, but it must be a legitimate correspondence, not electioneering.

The timing of receiving this repulsive letter only a week after the election announcement is a beautiful example of the National Party's utter disdain for the rules of fairness and transparency. The letter purports to be survey of electors' attitudes towards various subjects of no relevance whatsoever, when it is nothing more than a blatant piece of self-promotion by an unimaginative twerp. Not to question how many trees died so a dead-shit could place his ugly mug in every household?

Jamie-Lee, no doubt named for the actress, is a complete tool. Slavishly hanging on John Key's every word, he is probably the tallest sycophant of the current crop of Young Conservative Yes-men. You can almost see him drooling when he's in the presence of the Lying Sack of Shit.

It's obviously working, with Ross already being instituted as junior Whip.

Jamie-Lee's greatest achievement while an Auckland City councillor was to insist that the generic name for the new eastern Manukau/Auckland suburbs was "Howick" rather than "Te Irirangi". Well played, Jamie-Lee!

The National Party, being backed by the rich and capable, is well able to afford to pay for its own publicity. The abuse of Parliamentary privileges in sending out this wasteful piece of self-promotional crap is completely unsurprising.

Glad to see National is leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of an extension of their regime ripping the guts out of less well-off New Zealanders.
