As the Len Brown saga continues.
I can't make my mind up whether he's insane or the most manipulative prick since Muldoon. (At least Piggy was an honest manipulator - go along with him or he'll punch your lights out!)
What's with the constant crying, Len?
Even during an interview with Weekend Herald he has to resort to blubbering about how honest he is.
Surely, an honest bloke wouldn't be overcome with tears at having cocked up what is a pretty minor business?
What is with the refusal to say who he was with when spent $810 of ratepayers' money on dinner?
Does the crying help stop awkward questions? Do reporters feel sorry for a man who so wears his heart on his sleeve that he blubbers like a two-year old every time someone is mean to him?
Or is it all just a completely cynical ploy to appeal to his decile one voter base?
Nobody loves an underdog like other underdogs, and when you're in decile 1*, you're automatically in the database of underdogs. It would not surprise me one iota if Len Brown were not playing to that base, safe in the knowledge that voters in Parnell and Remuera will not be voting for him anyway, that he is deliberately and cynically exploiting his own shortcomings as a means of securing more of the poor man's vote.
He is not fit to stand as Auckland mayor and he is not even fit to BE Manukau's mayor.
He should resign forthwith.
