Len Brown. Again.

I take no pleasure in saying "I told you so" this time. No, really.
I've been saying for years that Len Clown should not be in charge of a picnic, let alone a council, and in the fullness of time, he has proven that beyond dispute. Noncing around with your young girlfriend on the ratepayers' time and money is all very well, and the absurd elitist nepotism that sees cousin Ferg's white-water facility being built at a cost of $30M plus is just an aside, but the current proposed budget for Auckland is a travesty.
The budget is supposed to be part of a ten-year plan for the once-beautiful city of Auckland. Ten minutes, more like.
The single-minded pursuit of the rail link defies logic, and the budget it needs to happen.
Take a look at the cost-cutting measures - cutting essential services that belong to the people of the city; its parks, reserves, pools and libraries. And to what end?
Let me state it very clearly: Len Brown is a self-serving parasite of the highest order. His arrogance has been so well proven over so many years that I don't believe I really have to raise the credit card fiasco - all the way back in Manukau City days - to prove that Brown has been a completely arrogant and disrespectful (of the voters and ratepayers) for over a decade.
Len Brown is not trying to force the rail link down the throats of Aucklanders because it's the best thing for the city; he is doing it because it's best for Len Brown. He will be remembered as the man who gave Auckland true rail.
Instead of as the lying, manipulating, corrupt, premature-ejaculating
shithead he really is.
