I'm losing what respect I had for David Shearer with his feeble comments about his experience as leader of the opposition and consequent fall from grace.
"The thing I found most difficult really was the pettiness of politics and being in opposition. A lot of it was petty, a lot of it was venal."
"I just found it boring, I found it beneath me and I wasn't very good at it because of that. Other people thrive on it, they love it, I mean that's the thing they love about the arena of politics. To me, I found it below me."
"I wasn't prepared to go around on a bended knee to my caucus colleagues and ask for their support - it's just not the way I do things."
That kind of stuff would be all very well if Shearer had retired from politics and Zipping off to Jordan to work with Syrian refugees. But he isn't. He's staying on the gravy train because he thinks he can make a difference.
In what way does that remove him from the kindergarten part of politics?
Shearer is an ass. Yes, politics is pathetic, politicians act like three-year olds after three bottles of Coke and a chocolate bar, but he bloody well knew that before he ever became leader.
What he's done is come across as a petulant little man who is trying to take the high ground to cover his own inadequacy.
Little wonder he was never able to really climb into the lying sack of shit. No balls.
