A Message to Family First

As readers will know, the deceptively-named Family First organisation has nothing whatsoever to do with families and everything to do with living one's life in accordance with the Old Testament of the christian bible, where faggots are evil, women are possessions of men and children get beaten with implements for doing things like saying "Jesus" as a swear word.
Even the government finally recognised the fact that Family First is nothing more than a front for propaganda from ultra-right-wing fundamental christians and the organisation was removed from the tax-approved charity list.
They have spent enormous amounts of money promoting an anti-gay agenda, and have failed at every turn.
While there are a couple of notable exceptions - Anglican & Methodist churches - religious groups all believe that homosexuality is a sin and marriage should not be allowed between same-sex couples. The Roman Catholic church, despite some liberal statements by its pope, is still 100% homophobic by doctrine.
I know that logic and facts will have no affect at all on the clowns who populate these idiotic movements who think some ghost made the entire universe, but as society ages, we have reached a time where real testing and evaluation of the results of same-sex couples' parenting can be undertaken.
The highly reputable University of Melbourne did just that, and presented some less-than-startling results: same-sex couples are not just as good as heterosexual parents, they are actually a little better. Study link.
There are probably several very good reasons for the study, and an obvious one is that there are no unwanted children in same-sex relationships - nobody is going to forget to take the pill or have a contraception fail resulting in pregnancy. ("open" marriages discounted)
I'm sure there's also less pressure on same-sex couples to stay together for the kids/....... as can happen in "traditional" marriages, so there will be fewer children in dysfunctional homes.
Whatever the reason, it is now utterly irrefutable that same-sex parents are every bit as good as any other parent.
Stick that up your Old Testament bullshit.
